Paige Troxell is a filmmaker, producer, and storyteller from the South Side of Chicago whose love for film began at 12 years old, when she picked up her grandmother’s 1991 JVC camcorder after being inspired by Scream and the work of Wes Craven… and started making her own low budget horror.
In 2016, she directed the popular fan film Don’t Fall Asleep, the first fan film to feature an original character from the source material. It was on that set, surrounded by friends and collaborators, that she realized this was the path she was meant to be on.
Enter FredHeads: The Documentary… a project centered on A Nightmare on Elm Street that connected deeply with horror fans and held the number one spot for five consecutive weeks. The film further established her voice within the genre… someone who understands not just the films themselves, but the fandom and community behind them.
She has also worked behind the camera as the 2nd Unit Director of Photography on the official Sleepaway Camp documentary Angela, expanding her experience across different areas of production within the horror space.
That same voice has continued to grow through her platform TheFinalGurl13, where she shares pop culture commentary, horror analysis, and deep dives into the television and films that shaped her. Her content has reached millions, building a highly engaged audience drawn to her perspective on series like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Charmed, and more.
Her work has also expanded into on-screen commentary, including appearing on Now That’s What I Call Horror, where she is featured as a voice reflecting on the genre she has loved for most of her life.
As co-founder of Venn Pictures, she continues to develop original work across film and documentary alongside a collaborative team.
Across every part of her career… from fandom to filmmaking… her work is rooted in a genuine love of story, nostalgia, and the emotional connection people build with the screen.
