Kim Gunzinger is a filmmaker, producer, and creative based in the Washington, D.C. area and co-founder of Venn Pictures.
Her connection to storytelling started early, rooted in a lifelong love of the arts and a fascination with the macabre. That interest grew through years of attending horror conventions and immersing herself in the community, where she found not just inspiration… but a clear sense of direction.
Before stepping fully into film production, she explored multiple creative spaces, including local theater and the music scene, where she worked in booking and marketing. Those early experiences shaped her understanding of collaboration, audience engagement, and what it takes to bring a creative vision to life.
Her transition into film led to work across several independent projects, taking on roles both in front of and behind the camera. She served as Executive Producer on projects including Easter Sunday, as well as the short films Adherent and Crushed, and also appeared on screen as both an actor and talent coordinator.
In 2016, she was part of the team behind Don’t Fall Asleep, working as an Executive Producer and actor. That project marked a turning point… solidifying her place in the filmmaking space and laying the foundation for what would come next.
She later co-directed FredHeads: The Documentary, a project centered on A Nightmare on Elm Street that debuted at number one on Amazon and held its top position for five consecutive weeks, connecting with horror fans in a major way.
She has also worked behind the camera as 2nd Unit Director of Photography on the official Sleepaway Camp documentary Angela, continuing to expand her experience across production.
A graduate of George Mason University with a degree in Psychology, she brings a strong understanding of people and behavior into her work… something that continues to shape both her creative approach and the way she collaborates with others.
As co-founder of Venn Pictures, she works alongside her team to develop and produce projects across film and documentary.
Across every part of her career… from early creative exploration to producing… her work is rooted in a genuine love of the arts, collaboration, and the stories that bring people together.
