Marc Anthony Brownlee (Anthony) has been a horror fan since the age of five, when he first saw A Nightmare on Elm Street… a film that changed his life. That experience awakened the writer within him, and from that moment, he knew he wanted to tell stories… specifically horror stories. He wanted to scare people. For him, horror has always been a space to explore the idea of “what if.”
Growing up, he was bullied and often felt isolated, with horror films becoming both a comfort and a companion. He immersed himself in the genre… watching, learning, and absorbing everything he could. He has always been drawn to stories centered around the underdog… characters no one expects to succeed, and the battles, growth, and journeys they endure… something that has long resonated with his own life.
As a writer and author, he focuses on building those worlds and the people within them. To date, he has written eleven books, with seven published and seven more currently in progress.
As his circle grew, he found himself surrounded by the kind of people he had always hoped to have in his life… creatives who shared his passion for horror and storytelling. Through those collaborations, he expanded his work into producing, as well as exploring other creative avenues including documentary filmmaking, acting in several films, and scriptwriting.
He believes that life is about discovering purpose in the time between where we begin and where we end… and for him, that purpose is to inspire. Storytelling is his way of doing that.
Always follow your passion.
